Grains Council requests additional biosecurity measuresTuesday, 12 Jul, 2005
The Grains Council recently wrote to Biosecurity New Zealand to request additional biosecurity measures for products such as palm kernel, which are imported from some Asian countries with serious endemic diseases and can be fed directly to livestock on New Zealand farms. The Council pointed out that while the risk of importing an animal disease through imports of palm kernel may be low, the consequences of such an event are extremely high.
